Traffic is expensive; conversion is leverage. These twelve product-page patterns consistently lift Shopify conversion rates.
Start with speed
Before any layout change, get mobile loads under two seconds. Conversion rate drops measurably with every additional second, and no design pattern compensates for a slow page. Audit app scripts — most Shopify stores carry apps that were uninstalled but left their JavaScript behind.
Above the fold: answer the buying questions
A converting product page answers five questions instantly: what is it, why is it good, what does it cost, can I trust you, and what happens next. Put the review count next to the title, the price next to the add-to-cart button, and shipping/guarantee lines directly beneath it.
The twelve changes
1) Sticky add-to-cart on mobile. 2) Review stars beside the product title. 3) Shipping and return policy under the buy button. 4) Real-photo review section with images. 5) Size or spec guide as an inline drawer, not a new page. 6) Urgency only when true — fake timers destroy trust. 7) Payment icons near checkout actions. 8) Cross-sells after add-to-cart, not before. 9) A short product video in the gallery. 10) Compressed, properly-sized images. 11) A clear guarantee badge. 12) Cart drawer instead of a cart page redirect.
